FAQ about French regulation

In France, regulation surrounding Tiny Houses have two mains concerns: transport and location.

Transport

To tow the Tiny Binocles on the road, you need to hold a B(e) license and an adapted vehicle.

The gross vehicle weight (GVW) or permissible maximum weight of our trailer is between 2.7 and 3.5 tonnes.

As far as Tiny Houses fitted on farming chassis are concerned, a professional farming tractor will be necessary to tow them.

You can come and collect your Tiny House directly at our workshop. We offer ,for any of our Tiny Houses, an additional delivery service, directly to your location.

Location

The following information is for reference only and must most definitely be double checked with and confirmed by local authorities (local council, etc...), either for the location of a Tiny House, or the kind of project, etc... Tiny Binocles accepts no responsibilities on those maters.

Tiny Houses are mobile housing and hence do not have solid foundations laid in the ground. A planning permission is hence not required.

On a plot with a planning permission, you must still make a request to the local authorities prior to any development.

On a plot without a planning permission, a request for long-term car park authorisation must be made to the local authorities. In France, such permit is usually issued for three months and are renewable.

Serviced plots

Our Tiny Houses are designed to settle on serviced plots: graded and levelled land with drinking water

supply, drainage for black and grey waters, and an electricity connection with adequate grounding system.

We offer, as an additional service, to make your Tiny House fully autonomous with the installation of a

« Binocles » module supplying your needs in energy (water, gas, solar panels, etc...).
